About the role The Stomal Therapy and Continence Clinical Nurse Consultant provides expert clinical leadership and consultation in the assessment, management, and education of patients with ostomies, continence issues and the management of trial of void strategies. Responsible for the leadership, operational and nursing management of Stomal therapy and Continence referrals. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Educate and train healthcare professionals and patients on best practices in ostomy care, continence management, and skin integrity. Employing a high level of clinical knowledge and judgement to ensure superior delivery of holistic care to inpatients. Management of the nurse led Stomal Therapy Outpatient Clinic and Trial of Void Clinic. Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, and research projects related to Trial of Void protocols and continence and ostomy care. About you Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency. At least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience and in addition, approved post registration nursing qualifications relevant to Stomal Therapy /Continence Nursing or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney. Demonstrated leadership ability working in a multidisciplinary health care team with a comprehensive understanding of clinical governance and current nursing issues. Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice in their current role.
