We started with Main Storage Batteries for COLLINS Class submarines, and today our work spans Australia and select international markets — specialising in lead acid, nickel zinc, and lithium battery solutions for naval platforms. We know that minutes of battery life can mean the difference between mission success and failure — and that’s why we build every system to the highest possible standard. Named SME of the Year at the 2022 Australian Defence Industry Awards, and Defence Exporter of the Year in both 2023 and 2024, we’re proudly based at Osborne and backed by a high-performing team of engineers, technicians, and experts in their field. We’re now looking for a Senior Manager – IT & Cyber Security to lead our IT function and help us elevate it within the business. So, what’s the role? This is a newly created position — giving you the scope to shape it, elevate the IT function, and set the tone for how technology supports and secures the business. We need a leader who can think strategically and roll up their sleeves. Someone who can present to the Board with confidence, then work side-by-side with the team to troubleshoot, refine processes, and deliver critical projects. Here’s what a typical week might look like: Oversee the smooth running of IT operations (local and UK based) and infrastructure while keeping vendors in check and projects on track. Drive key company initiatives (including upcoming projects such as international data transfer, software development network, migration to cloud, IRAP assessment, ERP implementation, etc.) - from planning through to delivery. Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to solve problems with practical, “let’s make this work” solutions — not roadblocks. Map out how our IT strategy is tracking against company goals and drive forward digital transformation projects. Lead, coach and develop a small customer-centric IT team, making sure they have what they need to do their best work. Keep us secure, overseeing cyber security, compliance, and risk management Enough about us—let’s talk about whether this role is for you! You are someone who: Is an Australian citizen (eligible for NV1/2 clearance) Has led an IT team in a complex environment (defence experience preferred) Is equally comfortable setting strategy and getting hands-on Is solutions-focused, collaborative, and an excellent communicator Demonstrates strong expertise across IT operations, infrastructure management, and cyber security.
