The Organisation The Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CACGEL) is a not-for-profit organisation overseeing 56 schools, nine early learning centres, three school age care services, and a central Catholic Education Office in Forrest, ACT. With over 23,000 students and more than 4,000 employees across the ACT and NSW, CACGEL is committed to delivering high-quality, affordable Catholic education in line with the Archdiocese’s evangelising mission. The Role Based in Canberra, reporting directly to the Executive Director and through them to the Board, and as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Financial Officer will lead the organisation’s strategic: financial planning, budgeting, management and reporting; capital planning and facilities management; and risk management. The Chief Financial Officer will also be a key member of the Finance and Infrastructure and Audit and Risk Committees. About You The successful candidate will be CA/CPA qualified with proven experience as a strategic CFO in a large, complex organisation. Experience within a regulated environment is highly desirable. You will possess outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, collaborators, and partners. You will also be an exceptional leader, able to develop the capability of your team members and the function as a whole. Whilst being of the Catholic faith is preferred, it is not mandatory. However, you should have genuine respect for the Catholic ethos, mission, and values, and reflect these in your duties.
