We are seeking an experienced Microgrid Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning of a large-scale, multi-site microgrid project. This is a unique opportunity to work on a cutting-edge energy infrastructure initiative involving solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), diesel generation, and advanced SCADA/EMS integration. This is a contract position for approximately 9-12 months, with an immediate start. Remote working will be expected from time to time. Key Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate commissioning activities across solar, BESS, HV/LV systems, SCADA, and EMS. Manage vendor and contractor engagement, ensuring safe and compliant commissioning practices. Develop and implement commissioning documentation including: Commissioning Management Plans Energisation Staging Plans Performance Validation Plans Conduct site investigations and witness commissioning tests (cold and live). Validate system performance against design specifications, including: PV generation BESS charge/discharge cycles Load profiles and islanding scenarios Lead weekly commissioning meetings and issue detailed progress reports. Ensure all documentation, test results, and redline markups are properly stored and submitted. Support handover to asset management teams, including training and performance testing. Required Experience Proven track record in commissioning management for complex energy systems. Strong understanding of HV/LV electrical systems, SCADA, and microgrid technologies. Experience with Australian standards (AS/NZS 3000, 3008, 2067, etc.). Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate across disciplines. Familiarity with safety protocols including HV permitting and lockout/tagout procedures. Desirable Skills Background in engineering, project management, or electrical commissioning. Experience with solar farms, battery storage, and diesel generation systems. Proficiency in documentation platforms (e.g., Procore) and commissioning tools.
