MECCA is on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Senior Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to elevate our safety culture and champion our people-first approach to health, safety, and wellbeing. The Role You Could Play The Senior Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor is a newly created role that plays a critical part in strengthening MECCA’s Safety Management System and embedding a proactive, people-first safety culture across our operations. This role is responsible for leading the delivery of health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives across MECCA’s Distribution Centres in Australia and New Zealand, operating within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Working across both strategic and operational levels, the Senior HSW Advisor drives robust risk management practices to support a safe and inclusive workplace. In addition to HSW site leadership responsibilities, a primary focus of the role is managing MECCA’s injury management and workers compensation processes, including early intervention, rehabilitation, and return-to-work coordination—ensuring safe, sustainable outcomes that reflect MECCA’s values. As a trusted subject matter expert, the Senior HSW Advisor understands safety legislation and provides coaching and guidance to leaders to help them take ownership of safety within their teams. The role partners closely with the National Distribution Manager, frontline leaders, and People & Education stakeholders to deliver tailored HSW solutions that meet operational needs, while working under the strategic direction and accountability of the HSW Manager. This is a hybrid role predominantly based at our Distribution Centre in Tullamarine, with one day a week spent at our Richmond Support Centre. Occasional travel to other locations may also be required from time to time. What You Will Bring You’ll bring a strong blend of strategic thinking and operational execution, with deep knowledge of WHS legislation, injury management, and return-to-work processes across Australia and New Zealand. Adept at navigating change, you remain calm under pressure and flex with evolving business needs. You’re a clear and influential communicator who builds trusted relationships, coaches stakeholders, and fosters a culture of safety ownership. With a detail-oriented, process-driven mindset, you ensure accurate reporting and compliance while using data to drive practical, people-first safety solutions. Your commitment to continuous improvement and effective workload management supports impactful, measurable HSW outcomes. You will also be able to demonstrate: Minimum 4 years’ experience in injury management, including workers compensation, return-to-work coordination, and proactive recovery strategies At least 3 years’ experience in a similar advisory role, ideally within a warehouse or high-risk industrial environment (desirable) Experience with DoneSafe and Solve Injury systems is desirable A strong risk management understanding and approach to Health, Safety & Wellbeing. Proven ability to implement change management strategies and drive continuous improvement in safety practices Strong working knowledge of Australian Work Health and Safety Legislation, Regulations and Codes of Practice.
