Your role at St John of God Burwood We are seeking applications for an Environmental Services Coordinator to join our team at Burwood on a permanent full-time basis. This role is responsible for leading the environmental services team to provide a high standard of cleaning, waste management and linen supply to meet the needs of the hospital. In addition, provides appropriate supervision and leadership to the team, resolving operational issues in a timely manner and escalating unresolved issues, and manages the rosters, pays and other operational activities. The Position Develop and maintain a strong service excellence culture in the Environmental Services team to support the Mission of SJGHC. Resolve operational issues in a timely manner and in support of the wider hospital operation. Build effective relationships with stakeholders within the hospital and actively engage with them to ensure responsive servicing that meets the needs of the hospital. Lead and provide daily management for the Environmental Services team and physical resources, including direct leadership during peak periods. Periodically review, re-evaluate and revise caregiver tasks, procedures and duty statements to meet the needs of the services we provide. Coordinate performance reviews and coaching for Environmental Services caregivers to ensure their knowledge, skill and attitude are aligned with the goals of the service and the Mission. Prepare rosters and manage leave balances and productivity hours to ensure efficiency and cost-effective resources within budget. Run training sessions, in-services, meetings, tool-boxes and ensure online and face to face training is completed on time to keep all Environmental Services caregivers informed, well trained and ready for their duties. Ensure that any agency staff and contractors are suitability trained, inducted and supervised for their duties, and any issues are reported to the HSM and the agency manager. The ideal candidate will possess proven team leadership skills in Environmental Services and the ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative environment. A thorough understanding of cleaning and infection control standards in healthcare is essential. To succeed, you will demonstrate experience in staff training, development, and roster administration. You will also possess prior experience implementing service metrics (e.g. key performance indicators) and monitoring effective service delivery to maintain the highest standards of service and quality.
