About the role We’re seeking a highly experienced aviation leader to join Alliance Airlines as our Manager Flight Training and Standards , based at our Brisbane Head Office. Reporting to the General Manager Flight Operations, this role is accountable for the training and checking of all Flight and Cabin Crew, and holds key appointments as Head of Training and Checking (HOTAC) and Head of Operations (HOO) under CASA regulations. With approximately 20% flying duties to maintain currency as a Check Captain, this position combines strategic leadership with operational expertise, ensuring our training and standards remain industry-leading. What’s the role on offer? As the Manager Flight Training and Standards, you will: Lead and uphold the highest training and checking standards for all Alliance Flight and Cabin Crew, ensuring compliance with CASA regulations. Oversee the Flight Training and Checking organisation, including staffing, simulators, programs, and record-keeping. Maintain and develop training manuals, policies, and procedures to meet regulatory and operational standards. Provide leadership in crew performance assessment, emergency procedures, and dangerous goods training. Manage and support Training and Checking staff, contractors, and instructors to ensure capability, qualifications, and compliance. Champion a culture of safety, security, and continuous improvement across Flight Operations. Who are we looking for? We’re seeking an accomplished aviation professional with extensive experience in airline operations, flight training and checking, and the proven capability to hold CASA approval as HOTAC and HOO under Parts 119 and 142. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and communication skills to ensure our crew maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence. This is a rare opportunity to lead training and standards at a national level, while still flying on our most advanced aircraft types. Hold an Australian ATPL, valid Class 1 Medical, and current FER (TR/IR(A)/FIR) with CASA approval eligibility as HOTAC and HOO. Bring extensive experience in airline operations and Flight Training and Checking, with strong knowledge of CASA regulatory requirements. Demonstrate in-depth understanding of training programs, manuals, and operational compliance. Show outstanding communication skills with the ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across teams. Thrive under pressure, using initiative, analytical thinking, and attention to detail to achieve results.
