The Employer Our clients operate a family-owned mixed farming enterprise located just 25 kilometres west of Young. Spanning 5,000-plus acres, this dynamic property features a prime lamb breeding and finishing program supported by a flock of 6,000 self-replacing Primeline maternal ewes. In addition to lamb production, the farm includes a commercial Angus cattle operation with 250 Angus cows and the trading of steers when the season allows. The farm currently crops 700ha of wheat and canola plus fodder crops, all while engaging in pasture production. With a strong emphasis on livestock production, most of the crops are specifically tailored to support this focus. The property is well-maintained and boasts extensive improvements, modern machinery, and up-to-date stock handling infrastructure. The Role The Cropping Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the cropping program, which includes essential tasks such as spraying, sowing, harvesting and spreading. This position also requires maintaining detailed records of these activities and effectively communicating with agronomists and mechanics. In addition to cropping duties, the role will include mixed farming responsibilities, such as working with sheep and cattle. The Cropping Manager will also play a vital role in farm development and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for innovation and increased efficiency.
