The Role We have an exceptional opportunity for a Lawyer to join the supportive and highly successful team, led by David Wilkie . With a real opportunity for career progression and to be part of a highly collaborative team, this is a unique opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to work on some of the largest and most complex corporate and private equity fund deals in the current market; collaborate with global clients, including Blackstone, J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Invesco and Mitsui Fudosan; and be mentored by David and the senior members of his team. Matters involve both public and private sector clients primarily in the infrastructure, real estate, bio-tech, data storage and transport sectors. The focus of the team is investments by the world's largest private equity, sovereign, pension and private funds as well as strategic corporate work for Government and Asian corporate investors. David's clients represent the who's who of global investors from the USA, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Canada and Germany. The focus of the practice is on complex, market-leading cross-border deals and joint ventures. You’ll be part of a team that supports your growth and celebrates your success. You will work directly with some of the largest corporate and funds clients and play a leading role in key aspects of transactions, including negotiating and drafting transaction documents. You will gain hands-on experience, develop your skills, work alongside some of the most respected names in various sectors, and also be comfortable collaborating with other lawyers as part of a multi-disciplinary team and participating in the active and ongoing business development activities of the practice. Clients you will work with include Blackstone, J.P. Morgan, Mitsui Fudosan, NSW Government, Morgan Stanley, Invesco and Realterm. The team works closely with Rory Moriarty and his team on many market-leading public transactions, most recently Crown Resorts and the Dye & Durham transactions involving PEXA and the Link Group. There is the opportunity to work on transactions that David and Rory may advise on from time to time. Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you will have: 2–4 years' post-qualification experience in Corporate M&A Solid experience in private M&A transactions gained within a leading commercial law firm is essential Excellent academic record A naturally collegiate mindset, which prioritises respect for peers and collaborative ways of working The ability to prioritise your time across a number of busy matters A genuine commitment to client service and a desire to engage in business development activities Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills An ambitious and focused determination to take your career to the next level How to Apply?
