Our client, a global household name is seeking an a seasoned contractor to join their Finance team based in Mascot. The role is reporting to the Head of Finance whom you will be supporting a cleansing project. Working with the leader to shape the financial management covering accounting, reporting and controlling collaborating with cross functional teams. Your goal is to clear back log, migrate data to strengthen systems and process gaps in preparation for an upcoming audit. Are you a hands-on finance professional ready to make an immediate impact? We are seeking a temporary Finance Manager to join a business in Mascot for a 6-month role. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, excels in clearing system backlogs, and is passionate about strengthening financial processes through cross-functional collaboration. You’ll work closely with high-performing local and regional teams, all while helping streamline operations and build a stronger finance backbone. This role will not have any direct reports but have you focusing heavily on project work specifically within SAP. You will be accountable for: Financial Reporting and Analysis: Guide and support GFSS on the preparation and analysis of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements). Month-End and Year-End Close: Managing the process of closing the accounting books at the end of each period, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled. Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the Financial Controller in developing and managing the annual budget, forecasting financial results, and analyzing variances for Financial Reporting (AARO). Internal Controls: Support Financial Controller and Compliance team in developing and maintaining internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Collaboration: Collaborating with other functions to provide financial information and support, working with local and regional team on continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence. Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all applicable accounting standards (IFRS & local standards), tax regulations, and other relevant laws and regulations. Audits: Coordinating and managing both internal and external audits, serving as the primary contact for auditors. Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures, enhancing efficiency and accuracy. Technical Accounting: Providing guidance on technical accounting issues, ensuring proper accounting treatment of routine and new business transactions. You will be technically strong in accounting with experience in Australian reporting standards. Able to achieve the 3 key things that the role will need to deliver, with our support of course. Balance Sheet deep dive – Perform reconciliation to address and clear migrated data Coordinate Audit activities, collaborate with Auditors, Stakeholders and Shared Service to address Audit queries and submit Audited report on time Develop and complete the new Sustainability report You will need to be CA/CPA qualified, experience in a similar position that is very hands on as well as working within a multinational organisation.
