We're looking for an experienced software developer to join our productivity team, with strong communication skills to join the team. The productivity team exists to amplify the effectiveness of trading, research, and engineering teams. Instead of directly building trading strategies, they provide tools, infrastructure, and processes that reduce friction and accelerate delivery. The role requires building robust solutions and solving challenges up and down the tech stack. This team spearheads and accelerates migration to the Bazel build system across IMC codebases and continually tackles bottlenecks in build processes, whether they are impactful one-line fixes or sweeping architectural shifts. The team supports codebases in a variety of languages, including Python, C++, and Java, to improve the daily productivity of hundreds of developers across the globe. Your Core Responsibilities Identify and implement improvements to software development workflows, from targeted, iterative refinements to sweeping architectural redesigns. Scale and advance IMC's trading systems builds and development tooling to support an excellent work environment for developers. Optimise compile times, improve code quality systems, and simplify software processes to improve the daily workflow of engineers Troubleshoot potential issues with build infrastructure and implementing improvements. Design and build infrastructure supporting the development, build, test, and release processes. Drive adoption of best practices in code health, development productivity, and maintainability. Your Skills and Experience: 5 years of software development experience in Python, Java, and/or C++ required. Knowledge of stable, dependable build environments and rapid feedback cycles. Prior experience with Bazel or other monorepo-build software required. Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity and GoCD. Experience with containerization technologies and tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in interacting with stakeholders across all phases of product design, development, and delivery.
