Blue Mountains Library is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to work full-time as a Library Assistant, based at Springwood Library. The successful candidate will have:Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent.Demonstrated ability to deliver efficient and enthusiastic Customer Service in response to changing needs.Demonstrated ability to assist clients in the use of technology and basic trouble-shooting assistance.Demonstrated ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and with an attention to detail.Demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated team experience that shows an ability to work with initiative and flexibility.Full list of essential and desirable criteria in Position Description.This position is full-time Mon – Fri 9.30am – 6.15pm (7.75h/60min lunch break) with an RDO every fortnight. Please note that it is a requirement of this position and condition of employment of this role for the successful candidate to agree to RDO on a Wednesday each fortnight (week 1) This full-time permanent position is a great opportunity for an individual with experience in collaborative teamwork, a friendly and approachable nature and with strong interpersonal and communication skills. The position involves assisting with the provision of courteous, efficient library circulation services, responding to enquiries, shelving and collection maintenance. While this role is predominantly based at Springwood Library, the position holder can be required to work at any of the six Blue Mountains Library branches. Candidates not selected for the role but deemed suitable will be added to an eligibility list for the casual Library Assistant pool.
