About the Role – Casual We are seeking a General Paediatrician to deliver high-quality inpatient, outpatient, and on-call paediatric and neonatology services as part of our multidisciplinary team. The role includes: Clinics – Paediatric rapid access clinics and neonatal review clinics as rostered. On-Call & Neonatal Care – Participation in the paediatric/neonatal on-call roster, supporting maternity, Emergency Department, and inpatient units. Neonatal Skills – Proficiency in advanced neonatal resuscitation, including airway support, ventilation (face mask/laryngeal mask), chest compressions, endotracheal intubation, vascular cannulation (umbilical/peripheral), and medication/fluid administration. Ward Duties – Acting as the bed card holder for postnatal babies, managing admissions from the community, and performing well-baby checks prior to discharge. Key Responsibilities Provide evidence-based clinical care to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Supervise and educate junior medical and relevant clinical staff. Use clinical information systems to support informed care planning. Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure continuity of care. Participate in risk management, quality improvement programs, and incident reviews. Conduct daily ward rounds and participate in paediatric clinic sessions. Foster collaborative relationships with paediatric, obstetric, and anaesthetic teams. Mandatory Requirements Annual Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation (ANR) certification with recent clinical NNR experience at the required service level. Advanced Paediatric Life Support 2 (full). FRACP in General Paediatrics with current Australian specialist registration. * Eligibility for full registration with AHPRA as a Paediatrician/Neonatologist.
