Overview: Full-time, Continuing position Flexible Working Arrangements Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, and hybrid ways of working About the role The Senior Manager, Cyber Design & Control (CDC) is responsible for analysis, designing and reverification of security systems across RMIT’s IT environments. The Senior Manager, CDC demonstrates thought leadership and achieves continues improvements through stakeholder management, technical expertise, business acumen and execution of operational processes. The role works with other CISO Office and ITS staff to ensure proposed technical solutions achieve both business, regulatory and technical requirements in a secure manner and evaluates vendor platforms and products for security assurance and capabilities. The Senior Manager, CDC provides comprehensive consultation and leadership to business units, IT management and staff at the highest technical level for all aspects of security design, architecture and control. The role develops and maintains operating frameworks / tools to facilitate the analysis of technical solutions’ control needs. Operating under broad direction and with a degree of autonomy, the Senior Manager, CDC provides authoritative advice, direction and guidance to RMIT on all matters pertaining to cybersecurity architecture and design. The role is responsible for driving and maintaining the vision, strategy, and program to ensure business solutions are designed, implemented and managed with the right level of cybersecurity control. The Senior Manager, CDC is responsible for development, measurement, and management of CDC principles, reference models and guidelines, including the setting of strategic direction relating to the design of secure technical solutions. To be successful in this position, you’ll have: Extensive industry experience in analysis of large scale Information Security services, processes and Risk Management practices, including in-depth understanding of global cybersecurity trends Significant experience and a deep knowledge and understanding of security protocols, patterns and design principals, including cybersecurity technologies, Internet of Things, Threat Management Modelling and Technology Risk Management Extensive experience in the evaluation of technical security controls, including security design assessment Wide breadth of knowledge across security products, tools, and industry trends; ability to create solutions using a pragmatic, risk-based approach Exceptional ability to present ideas and influence others, teamwork, and collaboration expertise. Able to laterally think and communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and delivery quality service within restricted timelines Exceptional interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and liaise effectively with internal and external clients, to proactively identify and solve issues.
