The Role Due to an organisation restructure and accelerated growth globally, they are looking to recruit a Global GM Supply Chain to lead all operations in markets in which they sell their products. The main responsibilities will include: Operations execution: Lead the warehousing/distribution, supply chain and planning for the business. Deliver excellence in Customer Service through coordination of end to end activities across the supply chain operation. Develop and lead the planning to optimise inventory and improve service levels. Lead systems and process improvement to improve the supply chain across the organisation. Responsible for DIFOT to all customers and consumers around the world. Optimise the logistics function (warehouse and distribution) to reduce costs and improve service. Lead engagement and negotiations with all 3rd party suppliers that support the movement of products through the supply chain. Strategy: Development of a customer-centric, responsive and efficient supply chain/operation (end to end). Develop and maintain productive, customer-oriented relationships with internal stakeholders (inc sales, marketing, IT, manufacturing, product development, finance, suppliers, etc). Develop and maintain relationships with key supply chain/operations partners to reduce cost and deliver maximum value. Implementation of current and future key strategic projects relating to the supply chain. Build and develop a strategic plan based on people and process capability, automation, continuous improvement and engagement, that will deliver significant savings and improvements. People and Culture Development: Lead and manage a safe and motivated work force across the supply chain. Lead the engagement and development of team members within the organisation and function, striving to improve capability across the team. Drive a culture of performance and accountability through behaviours/values. Develop and embed change management capability into the function. Maximise employee engagement and alignment. Talent and succession management processes in place. Financial Management: Manage the cost centre for the supply chain function. Drive a program of continuous cost reduction driven by financial management systems and a continuous pipeline of improvement projects (all levels). Optimise major cost drivers for the function, through development and use of effective control reports. Regular variance analysis. Continuous identification and elimination of waste in the operation value stream. Inventory and other waste minimisation. Oversee and manage an effective stock control system. The Person We’re looking for an experienced logistics or supply chain professional who combines operational excellence with commercial thinking and a genuine passion for purpose-driven business. Ideally tertiary qualified. Senior executive leadership background, able to think strategically and deliver through people and process. Need to have extensive experience in supply chain within a manufacturing environment, ideally in FMCG or a similar fast paced environment. Have experience working with a range of customers including distributors, retailers and direct-to-consumer. Commercially astute, they must be able to understand financial reports, manage a budget and make commercial decisions. Collaborative in their style, inclusive in making decisions. Strong communication, coaching, consultation and negotiation skills with an ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders including senior executive level employees as well as line management and operators. Strong cross functional experience must have a good understanding and have worked with sales and marketing, product development, HR, financial, IT and administration. Dynamic and not egotistical Strong presence and professional in their presentation. Able to gain attention quickly and be recognised as a strong leader in the business Must be able to adapt their style depending on the audience.
