We are currently seeking a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter with leadership experience to join a privately owned and highly successful manufacturer based in Bassendean. This is an ongoing Perth-based position offering full-time hours from 6am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday, with a great team culture and opportunities for career progression. In this role, you will lead a small team working on a range of large mining vehicles, including CAT water trucks, off-road haulage equipment, and other mobile plant machinery. You will be hands-on with the work while also coordinating team activities, ensuring quality standards are met, and supporting team members with training and guidance. While previous leadership experience is highly regarded, we also welcome applications from skilled Mechanical Fitters who are ready to take the next step into a leadership role. Key Responsibilities: Lead and support a small team of Mechanical Fitters in day-to-day workshop operations Perform chassis assembly on various mobile plant equipment, including water and service trucks, as per specifications Oversee testing of machinery and equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with standards Assist in constructing structural components and mechanical assemblies Ensure safe work practices and adherence to company policies at all times Key Requirements: Mechanical trade qualifications Australian citizenship or permanent residency Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a workshop or similar environment, or a strong desire to move into a leadership role Working at Heights & Confined Spaces certification, Forklift Licence, Dogging/Rigging Licence Previous experience with a range of mobile mining fleets Strong mechanical knowledge, including hydraulics (highly regarded) The successful candidate will be confident in leading a team while remaining actively involved in hands-on mechanical work.
