The opportunity: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Reliability and Planning Engineer to join our team at Visy Glass, Penrose, Auckland. The primary purpose of the Reliability and Planning Engineer position is to identify and prepare proactive maintenance activities. This includes generating job plans, preparing work, and optimizing work efficiency in consultation with relevant stakeholders (e.g., Department Managers, Maintenance Supervisors, Storeman). Using critical thinking, the reliability and Planning Engineer will also focus on aiding the Maintenance Department and be focused on carrying out reliability activities and small projects such as diagnosing failure before they occur, optimising PMs, assisting with facilitating RCAs, focusing on solutions for ongoing reliability issues While the role will work alongside the mechanical team, it may, from time to time, need to participate in reactive maintenance as well. Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: · Lead root cause analysis, asset reviews, and reliability investigations · Develop, implement, and improve preventative maintenance strategies · Monitor asset performance and drive reliability improvement projects · Optimise spare parts and maintenance planning using CMMS (MEX/SAP) · Support and mentor maintenance teams in best-practice reliability · Work across production and engineering to improve plant efficiency · Drive safety-first maintenance practices and continuous improvement What you will bring to the team: · Critical Thinking with a strong background in maintenance engineering · Previous exposure to 24/7 manufacturing environments · Ability to analyse failure trends and implement practical solutions · Hands-on mindset and ability to influence on-the-floor teams · Solid knowledge of safety practices and plant operations Benefits: In return, we offer a remuneration package that includes a competitive salary, on-site gym and physio, staff discount card, and a canteen that serves hot meals!
