Role Overview The Painting Trade Worker will be responsible for preparing surfaces and applying finishes to interior and exterior structures, ensuring high standards of quality and detail in all painting-related tasks. Key Responsibilities: Set up scaffolding and ladders, and use protective coverings to safeguard nearby surfaces from paint splashes. Prepare work areas by stripping existing paint or wallpaper, repairing timber elements, filling gaps, and sealing surfaces to achieve a smooth base. Mix and match paints to achieve the required colours and consistencies using appropriate pigments, oils, and additives. Apply paint, varnish, sealants, and stains using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, or spray equipment. Install wall coverings and wallpaper, ensuring proper alignment and trimming for a neat finish. Maintain a clean and organised workspace and ensure painting tools and equipment are thoroughly cleaned after use. Perform basic repair tasks, which may include replacing broken glass in frames and carrying out minor window repairs. Requirements Certificate III in Painting and Decorating, including at least two years of relevant on-the-job training or Certificate IV in a relevant field Minimum 1 - 2 years of practical experience in the painting trade, preferably within residential or construction environments.
