Why is this role for you? Are you tired of working with shoddy subbies? Sick of working with unprofessional people who don’t take construction seriously? Don’t want the headache of taking over a half-finished project that is behind schedule? If you want to work with a builder that has a healthy bank balance, a high staff retention and delivers projects with repeat clients then this is the role for you. This is a growth role within the business to ensure the current team isn’t over worked and because their pipeline is impressive. You’d start on a $5million hospitality refurb or a $3million new build child care centre with clients they have worked with for decades. The 5 PM’s in the business have all been there 5 years plus (except one of them) and of their 5 CA’s 2 were grew through the company as cadets so the delivery team is spot on with staff turnover ridiculously low. Possibly even the best in Sydney. Making your life as a SM much easier. You’d have a leading hand or foreman helping you out on the project and you’d also get the chance to deliver new build projects in the $20-$30million range (they do around 3 a year) Year on year they are profitable with a turnover around $60million so it’s a happy business that don’t cut corners trying to save pennies and screwing over their subbie base on each project. Salary is in the $210-$240k package range (you can also get a ute or car allowance) and Saturdays are rostered though a lot of projects have no Saturdays as part of their program. If you enjoy the complexity of ‘live’ environment projects that have heavy refurb elements, like to run your own projects with minimal fuss and interference and like working across various sectors then this is the right SM role for you. Sounds great. What skills do you expect from me? You don’t need to be the finished article to apply for this role but you’d need to tick the following 4 boxes. You’ve got a track record of delivering projects in the $1-$30million range. (New build exposure will be a bonus) You’ve delivered education, hospitality (pubs clubs) or government projects before with a head contractor.
