Our WA Materials Technology team based in Perth has an opportunity for a Technical Director - Materials Technology/Durability Consultant to support a wide range of projects within a multidisciplinary environment. Being part of a dynamic team, you will be responsible for supporting external client projects as well as internal GHD client groups. We’re looking for a Technical Director - Materials Technology/Durability Consultant to join our Resource and Materials Engineering business group. Working w ith an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Support the team working on a diverse range of clients and projects with a focus on asset condition assessments, durability of steel and concrete infrastructure, as well as specifying infrastructure repair and corrosion protection Direct and supervise site investigations involving inspection, durability testing, diagnosis of issues, remediation design and risk management strategies. Technical report writing including producing technical specifications , ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements across engineering activities Deliver and be accountable for technical assignments, for industries such are defence, marine, transport and many others Undertaking quality assurance activities and providing the final sign off on design documentation and reports Providing technical mentoring of others, ensuring technical excellence for client delivery Contribute to business development and proposals to win new works What you will bring to the team: A degree in Engineering (Civil, Materials, Metallurgy, or Structural) and/or Science or higher Minimum 15 relevant experience Minimum of 10 years in design consultancy Strong technical experience working on infrastructure projects with a focus on asset condition assessments, corrosion management and durability, with preference to maritime infrastructure Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience in reading and writing technical reports Site experience in completing asset condition inspections and testing Strong ability to create and maintain strong working relationships High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills Willingness to travel and work on site in WA when required We welcome applications from individuals who may not yet meet the full experience criteria for a Senior Engineer role.
