A rare opportunity has arisen within Council's Shire Planning and Advocacy section for an Assistant Strategic Planner to join the team. Reporting to the Team Leader Employment & Rural Industries you will have the opportunity to further develop your skills and support the employment and rural land use planning for the Shire. Some exciting projects that you will have the opportunity to work on include: A new Night Time Economy Strategy and planning framework Major employment rezoning proposals and planning of new employment hubs across the Shire Developing innovative rural planning initiatives that support the viability and enhancement of Wollondilly’s valuable agricultural industry Leveraging Wollondilly’s economic growth opportunities from the Western Sydney Airport and aerotropolis The successful applicant will need to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria: Working towards a Degree qualifications in Town planning or related discipline. Base knowledge and understanding relevant legislation. Ability to communicate, influence and negotiate effectively with all levels of Council and the community. Ability to provide high level customer service to internal and external customers. Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence.
