We are currently seeking a Vehicle Spray Painter to join our busy workshops in Perth, Newman, Karratha, and Port Hedland. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be working on a wide range of light vehicles, buses, and large trucks. Key Responsibilities: Prepares surfaces of vehicles, matches and mixes colours, and applies paint Removing rust and other loose materials using either acid or a wire brush Filling, sanding, and smoothing surfaces that need to be sprayed. Applying masking tape and coverings over areas that are not to be spray-painted. Selecting and mixing the required liquid coatings. Applying primer and finishing coats using spray guns and sanding surfaces between coats Selecting and attaching the correct spray nozzle to create the desired spray pattern. Spraying designs and artwork on vehicles using stencils. Cleaning and the maintenance of spray-painting equipment. Inspecting and assessing finished work. Able to use a spray machine or a handheld spray gun. Removing masking tape and applying wax and polish to finished paintwork Treat vehicles with rust-proofing agents Touching up paintwork and applying polish to vehicles To be successful, the following is required: Cert III in Automotive Refinishing Technology or equivalent Previous experience in a similar role for at least 3 years Excellent communication skills and strong English literacy required High attention to detail and able to work effectively and collaboratively with the team Ability to meet strict deadlines Be reliable, punctual & hardworking Strong commitment to health and safety Current driver's licence Ability to work in a team environment and possess a positive work ethic Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test EMPLOYMENT DETAILS: Annual Salary: $40- $45 per hour based on a 38-hour week and dependent on skill and experience Employment Basis: Full-time employment These roles are open to Australian residents only
