Many of our employees work remotely providing services directly into schools via telehealth. Job Description As a clinical psychologist, you will work alongside occupational therapists and speech pathologist delivering services to schools and preschools in set regions. A substantial portion of the caseload is weekly individual therapy via telehealth, and working with parents/carers and school staff to support student’s individual needs. There are also opportunities to provide assessment services, group therapy and professional development to school staff. A typical day involves seeing 4-5 clients and attending a team or supervision meeting. The successful applicant will be required to participate in community visits one or twice per semester, providing an opportunity to build deeper relationships with clients, parents, carers and education staff, and to understand their local context firsthand. We are passionate about continually improving the quality of our services, and provide all clinicians with access to individual and group supervision, and support to attend professional development activities. We are keen to support flexible working and can accommodate working from home (including fully remote staff), and part-time staff (a minimum of three days a week is preferred). Given we deliver services to schools, clinicians can easily request to take additional leave during school holiday periods. Desired Skills and Experience YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE Essential Criteria • Accredited postgraduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology with full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. • Demonstrated experience working in the core components of clinical psychology i.e. paediatric psychological assessment and diagnosis including administration of Wechsler assessments and questionnaires assessing behavioral/social/emotional concerns. This includes caseload management for children range of needs such as disability and/or complex developmental, social-emotional, learning and behavioural challenges. • Exhibits and maintains high quality written and verbal communication skills including report writing, file notes, communicating with children, carers, educators, other stakeholders and colleagues. • Knowledge of Child Safe practices including, but not limited to Child Protection legislation, policy and procedures. • An understanding of family-centered and strengths-based care. • Complies with Mandatory Employment Screening Checks Policy and Workforce Immunisation Policy. • Commitment to diverse and inclusive practices. Demonstrated understanding of the issues faced by CALD and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities within the context of health and family wellbeing. Ability to communicate effectively with people across cultures, ranges of ability, genders, ethnicities and races and successfully deliver culturally responsive services. • Highly developed computer skills including use of programs such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom, and experience delivering services via telehealth.
