This is achieved by raising awareness, educating and mobilising individuals, groups and communities to change attitudes and behaviours towards women and children. NO MORE aims to reduce DFV through developing supportive cultures in sporting organisations, workplaces, organisations and communities, as well as build community capacity, establish men’s groups, provide DFV awareness education, and refer men who use violence in their relationships to support services including men’s behaviour change programs, counselling and other support services. NO MORE works with the whole community, initially targeting the men who want to champion the change of attitudes and behaviours towards women and children, then working with all those in the community who seek change including women, Aboriginal and other service provider organisations, government and local businesses. Find out more: https://youtu.be/qvnZG3cia64 About the role A NO MORE Community Engagement Worker plays a vital role in engaging sporting clubs, workplaces, and communities to develop local strategies for preventing domestic and family violence. This role is focused on building relationships, fostering cultural change, and supporting communities in developing Domestic Violence Action Plans (D-VAPs). Community Engagement Workers deliver education and awareness sessions, connect organisations with support services, and empower community leaders to take action against violence. They work closely with local stakeholders, ensuring that prevention strategies are culturally appropriate, trauma-informed, and community-driven. What we are looking for Strong community engagement skills: Ability to build trust and establish relationships with diverse community groups, including sporting clubs, workplaces, and Aboriginal communities. Experience working in culturally safe and trauma-informed ways, particularly in engaging men as key agents of change. Passion for preventing domestic and family violence: Commitment to promoting respectful relationships and non-violent attitudes through education and advocacy. Willingness to facilitate discussions on difficult topics such as gender equality, power dynamics, and respectful behaviour. Initiative and teamwork: Self-motivated and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with the NO MORE team and partner organisations. Comfortable delivering presentations, supporting community-led initiatives, and adapting strategies to local needs.
