About the Opportunity Strathfield Council is seeking a reliable and motivated Street Sweeping Team Leader for a new position within a new team. This role involves delivering high-quality street sweeping services, including being hands-on, overseeing daily operations, coordinating a small team, ensuring equipment is used safely, and driving continuous service improvement. As a working Team Leader, you will lead by example – maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service while contributing to a cleaner, safer environment for the community. Essential Requirements Demonstrated experience in the supervision and leadership of small teams. Demonstrated high level of organisational skills to manage multiple tasks, exercise initiative and meet deadlines. A current Class MR Driver’s License. Demonstrated experience in driving various vehicles and plant for operation. Ability to work early shift and flexible hours as required. Ability to work co-operatively as part of a team and independently without close supervision. Ability to record data, use operational technology such as smart phone or tablet, and to effectively carry out verbal and written directions. High level of verbal, numeracy and written communication skills. Understanding of and commitment to quality customer service. Traffic Control Work – Implement Traffic Control Plans and Traffic Controller. Ability to communicate to a level that enables the accurate interpretation of instructions. Desirable Certificate for General Construction Induction (CIC – White Card) NSW. Experience in the use of handheld equipment, operation and driving the full range of street cleaning equipment, plant and trucks.
