The organisation The Legal Practitioners’ Liability Committee (LPLC) is an independent statutory entity providing professional indemnity insurance to Victorian barristers, solicitors and many of Australia’s national law firms, from the largest national practices to sole practitioners. Under the leadership of a new CEO and with a refreshed strategy, LPLC is restructuring key areas to strengthen prevention and claims capability. The opportunity Reporting to the Head of Prevention & Risk, the Prevention Education Specialist will play a critical role in designing and delivering risk management education programs that reduce professional liability risks in legal practice. This is a hands-on role responsible for developing learning strategies and materials across multiple formats, including workshops, webinars, e-learning and written guides. You will draw on insights from claims and risk teams to create evidence-based, engaging content tailored to the needs of legal practitioners. The role requires collaboration with subject matter experts, law firms, professional bodies and regulators to ensure education programs are practical, relevant and widely accessible. A key part of the role will be monitoring emerging risks, integrating data and insights into program design, and measuring the effectiveness of learning initiatives. By applying adult education principles and leveraging technology, you will foster a culture of continuous learning and risk awareness, helping to build resilience and capability across the profession. About you You have experience in developing and delivering education or training programs, ideally gained within a professional services, legal, insurance or public sector environment. You are an effective communicator who can engage and influence diverse audiences, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You bring an analytical mindset and the ability to interpret data and trends to design targeted, impactful education initiatives. You are confident in using learning technologies and platforms, and you apply creativity alongside evidence-based approaches to ensure programs are engaging and relevant. You also demonstrate a proactive and collaborative style, able to work effectively in a dynamic environment. A tertiary qualification in education, law or a related field is required.
