Calvary Adelaide is seeking a Clinical Nurse to join their team, with a special interest in Infection Control. This role is a newly created position to support the compliance of infection control principles throughout the Perioperative Suite. This role will work in conjunction with the clinical leadership team, supporting the management of infection control principles throughout the department. About the role The Infection Prevention and Control Nurse role is responsible for providing infection prevention and control expertise at Adelaide's largest private hospital. Calvary Adelaide Hospital is a new state of the art tertiary hospital with 300 inpatients beds, 20 theatres and procedural areas including a hybrid theatre, a 24/7 emergency department and 20 bed intensive care unit. Specialties include orthopaedics, cardiac, neurosurgery, general surgery, general medicine and rehabilitation. Your main duties will include: Providing comprehensive infection control advice and assistance across the department Facilitating the reporting of infections through a robust surveillance program Upholding the audit schedule requirements and action plans Actioning quality improvement activities Development and review of policies and procedures Supporting staff education and knowledge development About you AHPRA Registration with no restrictions Hold or working towards ACIPC Foundations of IPC certificate or relevant post graduate qualification Infection prevention and control skills, knowledge and experience Demonstrated recent clinical experience in an acute care and/or hospital setting Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team A desire to work in a team driven by quality outcomes and change management Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation For further information please contact Karli Emery, Infection Prevention & Control Manager, Kirsty Napier, Perioperative Services Manager, kirstylouisenapier@calvarycare.org.au Why work for Calvary?
