Job Description We’re looking for a skilled and personable Butcher to join our team, someone passionate about quality meat, craftsmanship, and great customer service. You’ll be responsible for preparing, trimming, and presenting various meat products in line with hygiene and safety standards, helping drive customer satisfaction and build our reputation for excellence. Your expertise will support both our retail operations and product quality goals, making you an integral part of our brand and team. Key Responsibilities: Prepare meat for sale: remove bones, trim fat, cut, mince, and grind to meet presentation standards. Produce small goods such as sausages, cold cuts, and marinated or seasoned meats. Operate grinders, slicers, sausage machines, smokers, and other processing equipment. Season, cure, or smoke meats for value-added offerings. Inspect, weigh, label, package, and price products accurately. Serve and advise customers on meat selections and preparation methods. Maintain clean, hygienic work and display areas in keeping with food safety guidelines. Design and refresh attractive meat displays. Assist with production planning, menu scheduling, and cost estimation. Support inventory controls and product ordering. What We Are Looking For: Minimum 1 year of relevant butchery experience (retail, processing, or smallgoods). Excellent knowledge of meat cuts, preparation methods, and smallgoods production. Skilled in using meat processing machinery. Strong commitment to hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness. Excellent customer service and communication abilities. Physical stamina and dexterity for manual handling tasks. Ability to work efficiently both alone and as part of a team. Certificate III in Meat Processing or equivalent apprenticeship preferred.
