Director of Wellbeing - Senior School Commencing Term 1, 2026 The Southport School is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding School for boys situated on the banks of the Nerang River in the heart of the Gold Coast. We are seeking an exceptional educator to lead wellbeing initiatives as our next Director of Wellbeing , commencing at the start of the 2026 school year. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Senior School – Pastoral Care and working in partnership with the Deans of Students, this pivotal role is responsible for the leadership, development, implementation and ongoing enhancement of the School’s Wellbeing Framework for students in Years 7 to 12. The successful candidate will demonstrate: Extensive experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating evidence-informed wellbeing programs across Years 7 to 12 Deep understanding of the key health and wellbeing challenges facing adolescents today Proven ability to strategically manage human, financial, and physical resources to deliver high-impact wellbeing outcome Outstanding communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills A capacity to build strong, inclusive relationships with students, families, staff, and external agencies A commitment to fostering a positive school culture through meaningful connections between students, educators, and the broader community Aligned with our School values of Teamwork, Scholarship and Service , we are seeking a relational leader who brings warmth, empathy, and clarity to their management style. Experience in a boarding school environment is highly regarded, as is a genuine passion for boys’ education and an understanding of how to engage boys in ways that make them feel valued and supported across academic, wellbeing, spiritual, sporting and cultural domains.
