Description About the Role We’re currently seeking an Organics Chemist with hands-on experience in environmental sample analysis to join our team at our brand-new Perth facility, located in Canning Vale. This modern laboratory and office space offers the latest technology, on-site parking, and contemporary amenities designed for comfort and efficiency. This is a technical, laboratory-based role that plays a critical part in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results to our clients. This is a 12 month fixed-term maternity leave cover that may be made permanent. As an Organics Chemist, you will work independently to conduct complex analyses using advanced instrumentation such as GC-MS and LC-MS. You’ll take ownership of your results, support the team through mentoring, and actively contribute to improving laboratory workflows and systems. Key Responsibilities Perform sample preparation and complex analyses, prioritising work by due dates and urgency Interpret and report results with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring data integrity and compliance Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal uptime Monitor chemical and consumable stock levels, maintaining 100% availability Train and support junior team members, contributing to a collaborative and capable lab team Assist with documentation, audits, and continuous improvement in line with ISO and WHSE standards Skills And Experiences About You The ideal candidate will have: A degree in Science (Chemistry or related discipline) 1-2 years of experience in laboratory testing, preferably environmental Strong practical experience with GC-MS/LC-MS operation and data interpretation Excellent time management, attention to detail, and independent working skills Comfortable managing competing priorities while meeting tight deadlines Clear communicator with a collaborative approach to working within technical teams A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and attention to detail At Envirolab Group, you’ll be part of a supportive team environment led by industry experts.
