Description About the role Reporting into the Health, Safety and Training Superintendent this position is aimed at someone who is passionate about keeping people safe, helping us to protect our environment and making a positive impact through contributing to creating and delivering effective safety and environmental systems, processes, initiatives and programs. In addition, we focus heavily on developing and maintaining strong internal and external relationships with colleagues, customers and key stakeholders. Skills And Experiences Key responsibilities Assist with the development and maintenance of our Health and Safety Management system. Participate in conducting workplace inspections and reporting on any hazard or risk. Participate and contribute to toolbox talks and safety meetings. Promote safe work practices and environmental awareness among the team. Under guidance, assist with the maintenance and implementation of updating safety procedures, forms, templates, and guides. Familiarisation and application of relevant Work Health Safety & Environment legislation, policies and procedures. Support in the delivery of important Health Management Initiatives. Maintain currency and calibration for a range for work health and safety equipment. Assist with updating and maintaining employee profiles within the Learning Management System. Assist with updating and maintaining company documentation. Once trained, provide support to leaders with incident reporting and investigation process. Essential skills and experience Experience in the disciplines of Health, Safety and Environment is desirable. Interest in learning about Health, Safety and Environment Legislation acts, regulations, codes of practice and standards. Operating knowledge of Heavy Plant & Equipment, or environmental monitoring equipment is desirable. Intermediate to high level of computer literacy and software skills. High level of attention to detail is a must. Excellent written and verbal communication.
