Company A growth contractor in the Victorian Civil Construction industry, this company has been involved in some of the largest infrastructure projects across Victoria as a major subcontractor to tier 1 clients, including; big build projects, water/wastewater and rail infrastructure. They now have the opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join them to provide hands-on operational management across the business. Role As the Health & Safety Manager you will a key member of the team, responsible for driving the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Health & Safety management systems. In addition you will provide hands-on operational management across the business to achieve a workforce that is committed and engaged in achieving Health & Safety best practice, including providing support to the Leadership Team on Health & Safety strategies. Responsibilities include; Manage the ongoing development, implementation, review and continuous improvement of the company’s Health & Safety management systems. Continue to build and cultivate Health & Safety best practice culture through effective relationships, consultation and training to foster individual engagement and ownership. Provide proactive leadership across the company for all staff regarding processes and procedures. Coordinate, educate and mentor Heath & Safety, to teams and staff. Contribute and support the Leadership Team with business change initiatives that interact with health & safety matters Liaise with the Leadership Team to determine Health & Safety training and developmental requirements and develop an annual training plan. Liaise with clients regarding project HSE requirements. Requirements To secure this opportunity we are seeking an individual that meets the following criteria; Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role in construction Hold a current valid Australian Driver's License A proven background in the development, implementation and maintenance of best practice safety, and environmental systems is essential; ideally coupled with a comprehensive understanding and experience with OHS legislation and ISO-9001. Experience in internal and external auditing practices is highly desirable.
