Project Manager - GIS Project | Utilities Melbourne CBD 12-Month Contract $1100-$1200/day inc. 3 Days Onsite We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a business-critical GIS transformation within the utilities sector. This role centres on the upgrade of GE Smallworld and the rollout of a new Zone Sub Design Tool , supporting key planning and design functions across the organisation. This is a technically complex, on-premise deployment involving infrastructure upgrades, system integration, and end-to-end project delivery across multiple teams. Key Responsibilities: Lead the full lifecycle of a GIS Smallworld upgrade and Design Tool rollout - from planning, procurement, and configuration through to testing and go-live. Develop project plans, define scope and architecture, manage risks, and align delivery with IT infrastructure and cybersecurity teams. Oversee the on-premise infrastructure setup , including server, storage, and firewall configurations. Manage cross-functional stakeholders, including engineering, GIS, IT, and vendors. Deliver detailed reporting, risk mitigation strategies, and rollout communications to senior leadership. About You: Proven experience delivering large-scale IT rollouts involving enterprise systems and infrastructure (GE Smallworld experience highly desirable). Background in the utilities or asset-intensive sectors . Strong understanding of Zone Sub Design Tools or similar spatial planning tools. Technical knowledge of on-premise deployment , network segmentation, and firewall/security protocols. Strong stakeholder engagement, leadership, and communication skills.
