Ongoing full-time (76 hours per fortnight) Based at your closest Flourish Australia office (hybrid working environment with 3 days per week from the office) About the Opportunity The Lived Experience Practice Lead supports the Executive Director, Lived Experience Leadership to champion and integrate lived experience perspectives across Flourish Australia, ensuring they are reflected in all service projects, programs, and initiatives. Through strong leadership and collaboration with senior leaders and service delivery terms, this role ensures that lived experience informs Flourish Australia’s commitment to peer workforce development, recovery, inclusion, and meaningful reform, both within the organisation and nationally. This position supports Executive Director, Lived Experience Leadership in leading, developing, supporting and sustaining Flourish Australia’s large and dynamic peer workforce, while strengthening lived experience leadership in Flourish Australia and across the mental health sector Nationally. The Lived Experience Practice Lead also oversees the coordination and delivery of key lived experience projects, and plays a key role in guiding advocacy efforts and managing stakeholder relationships. Selection Criteria Essential: Personal lived experience of mental health challenges and personal recovery, and demonstrated use of this experience purposefully to lead, influence, and advocate within a professional context. A minimum of 3 years demonstrated leadership experience in a similar role. Demonstrated leadership capability, including leading the development, supervision, and supporting the wellbeing of a large peer workforce, consistent with peer work values and principles. Comprehensive understanding of recovery-oriented practice, trauma-informed care, and human rights-based approaches in mental health. Proven ability to lead and deliver projects, including tracking timelines, managing budgets, and aligning delivery with strategic priorities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write high-quality reports, facilitate presentations, and represent lived experience perspectives internally and externally. Demonstrated skills in stakeholder engagement and co-design, with a capacity to build relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders. Sound knowledge of the mental health sector, specifically including lived experience and peer workforce guidelines, frameworks alongside current mental health system reform efforts.
