We blend traditional Cantonese flavours with refined Western influences to create a nostalgic yet contemporary dining experience. We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Cook to join our kitchen team. Your Role: As a Cook , you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality, authentic Hong Kong-style dishes, ensuring consistency, taste, and presentation meet the standards of our nostalgic-modern culinary vision. Key Responsibilities: Assist with seasonal menu planning and the development of new recipes that reflect both local tastes and nostalgic Hong Kong café culture. Examine ingredients for quality and freshness, ensuring proper storage and handling to meet hygiene standards. Control stock levels, assist with ingredient ordering, and maintain kitchen inventory to ensure smooth daily operations. Prepare and cook a variety of Hong Kong fusion dishes, including modernized dim sum, creative entrées, and innovative small plates, ensuring refined presentation and consistent flavour. Apply both Chinese and Western cooking techniques to deliver complex, layered flavours and high-quality textures. Operate kitchen equipment and monitor temperatures to ensure precise execution of dishes and consistent output across service periods. Ensure consistency in portioning, taste, and presentation across all menu items. Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations and maintain cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen. Coordinate with the team to manage multiple orders and ensure timely service. Key Requirements: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification. At least 1 year of proven experience as a Cook, preferably in a Chinese or Asian fusion restaurant. Ability to manage kitchen stock and order ingredients. Ability to manage multiple orders and prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to prepare food in high-volume settings and work efficiently under pressure. Good communication and teamwork skills. Flexibility to blend traditional Chinese cooking techniques with Western methods to create innovative dishes. Proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is advantageous. Proficiency in using a wide range of cooking tools and techniques, including stir-frying, baking, grilling, and steaming. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering consistently high-quality food. Strong understanding of portion control and food presentation. Solid knowledge of kitchen safety standards and hygiene protocols.
