About the role In this role, you will be overseeing the catering operations at the site and assisting in the planning and preparation of nutritious and high-quality meals for our residents in accordance with the Food Safety Program requirements. Reporting to the Hotel Services Manager you will be working as part of a talented Hospitality team, to enhance the dining experience of our residents by sharing your culinary skills and championing our values to meet our mission of supporting people in their choice of health, wellbeing and lifestyle. Your role of the cook will contribute greatly to enhancing the lives of our residents by ensuring appetizing and nutritious meals are provided, promoting a positive and enjoyable dining experience for all. What are the key responsibilities? Duties may include but not be limited to: Food handling, preparation and cooking of meals. Cooking and presentation of food and ensuring on time delivery of quality meals. Basic record keeping (e.g. number of meals per day, missed meals). Stock control, ordering (e.g. food, cleaning products), receiving, checking, weighing and storing. Ensure kitchen and equipment is maintained in a safe, hygienic and tidy manner. What will you bring to the role? Certificate III in Cookery. You will demonstrate compassion, sensitivity and maturity to provide high quality meals. Attention to detail and ability to follow both verbal and written instructions. Experience working in commercial kitchen within healthcare environment (desired). Must be flexible with start time and days (including weekends). Good knowledge of food safety (preferable HACCP). Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and to manage your time effectively.
