UGL is currently looking for an experienced Senior Secondary Electrical Engineer to become a key member of the Power Utilities teams based in Brisbane or Sydney. You will be responsible for providing detailed designs, developing specifications, and interfacing with other disciplines, construction, commissioning, management, and clients on design issues. The Senior Secondary Engineer will build and maintain strong relationships with in-house construction teams and our clients to effectively deliver on expectations. You will join our multi-disciplined engineering team working to solve complex problems throughout the project lifecycle across all aspects of secondary system design. Your responsibilities include: Planning and conducting professional engineering work on EHV/HV Secondary Systems such as Protection, SCADA, Communications, Data Networks, etc. Providing detailed design services, consulting, recommending, and advising on areas including Protection Detailed Design, Equipment Specification and Procurement, Protection & Control Schematics, Grid Metering, Power Quality, Monitoring Installations, Load flow, Fault level and dynamic studies, Network/Data Network Architecture, Control System Design, Communication Systems, Power Generation, and system integration. Providing technical support for Business Development and Tendering. Assisting with site commissioning as required. Assuming the role of Design (Package) Leader when needed. Planning, coordinating, and mentoring other engineers. Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. About you · Electrical Engineering Degree. · Minimum 5 years’ experience in design, integration, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems for high voltage power systems. · Knowledge of secondary system design from concept to detailed design, preferably in a utility or consultancy environment. · Strong skills in Power System Protection and Automation software, equipment, and products. · Proactive in improving performance and efficiencies. · Safety-conscious attitude. · Stakeholder management skills. · Excellent relationship building, problem solving, and negotiation skills.
