We serve as mentors for our team of engineers, overseeing performance and finding growth opportunities. As a Manager, Software Engineering on the Unreal Ecosystem team, you will lead a passionate team in developing plugins, tools, and systems that enable developers and collaborators to create outstanding game experiences for our players. The Unreal Ecosystem (UnEco) team collaborates with partners across Riot, contributing to a more efficient Unreal development environment. You will tackle diverse technical challenges, quickly learn new topics, and solve complex problems that empower developers and players alike. Responsibilities: Manage a team of 4-7 software engineers, coaching them, ensuring adherence to best practices, and supporting their growth Partner with discipline and product leadership to improve team health and effectiveness Foster cross-team collaboration within Riot Mentor engineers on best practices for current projects Lead sourcing and hiring efforts to build the team Required Qualifications: 7 years of professional experience as a software engineer 3 years as an Engineering Manager leading engineers Experience recruiting and growing engineering teams Experience shipping products on large, multi-platform codebases Experience collaborating across departments to create solutions 3 years as a technical lead Participation in technical design and code reviews Proficiency with C++ or C# Desired Qualifications: Experience with game development teams Experience with game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine Experience with automation Success in this role requires craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes player delight.
