ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE: In this rewarding opportunity you will join the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) team as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager in our Orthopaedics department at our East Melbourne campus. We have exciting part time opportunity available for an Associate Nurse Manager on the 2nd floor at our East Melbourne Campus. The 2nd floor is a 29 bed acute surgical ward specialising in Orthopaedics, Urology and a 3 bed HDU. As part of our nursing team, you will be pivotal in planning and implementing nursing care to a high standard. This role will be pivotal in providing operational, clinical and professional leadership to staff, ensuring practice is aligned with the St Vincent’s Health Australia mission and values. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate previous experience in this area, as well as the maintenance of clinical experience and quality care to meet best patient outcomes whilst ensuring that the mission and values of St Vincent’s Private Hospital are inherent in the delivery of health care services. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to); Works closely with NUM to provide direction, support and advice to nursing & support personnel on a shift-by-shift basis Constructively supports the leadership of the NUM and assumes the responsibilities of the NUM in the absence of the NUM Demonstrates ability and commitment to support organisational development as directed by the NUM Facilitates effective working relationships with staff, customers, patients and VMPs Liaise with the Clinical Co-ordinator and NUM to manage patient workload and staffing requirements on a shift-by-shift basis Participates & actively supports the achievement of the Unit and Organisational KPIs, Mission, Vision & Values. ABOUT YOU: Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse. Substantial post-registration experience in an acute surgical setting (orthopaedics desirable). Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities. Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. A commitment to excellence in patient-centred care, safety, and quality.
