We’re looking for a Graduate Accountant to join Delta and learn from a team of experts! Why Your Expertise Matters We’re seeking a motivated Graduate Accountant to join our team and support a wide range of accounting functions across Vales Point Power Station and Chain Valley Colliery. You’ll assist in preparing financial reports, processing accounting entries and reconciliations, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and assisting with accounts payable. You’ll also collaborate with operational teams to help ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial data. What You’ll Do Prepare monthly accruals, general journals, and accounting entries for operating and capital expenditure. Perform reconciliations of balance sheet, profit and loss, and subsidiary ledgers. Investigate variances, correct ledger and system errors, and support training of operational staff on cost accounting processes. Assist with the preparation and updating of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and budget variation submissions. Compile and analyse cost centre, contract expenditure, and operations review reports. Maintain the fixed asset register for accounting and tax purposes, including depreciation schedules and policy updates. Process creditor claims and support contract and payment workflows in Ellipse and Salesforce systems. Provide backup support to Accounts Payable and assist the Management Accountant as needed. What We’re Looking For Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related commercial discipline. A basic understanding of accounting standards, journal preparation, and financial reconciliations. Some exposure to budgeting, reporting, and financial variance analysis. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with financial systems such as general ledger and reporting tools. Strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
