Job Description: Allied Health Assistant – Grade 2 – Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy • Full Time, permanent position • Challenging and rewarding work environment • Friendly and dynamic team About the Role An opportunity currently exists for an Allied Health Assistant to join the Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy teams. This position will primarily provide assistance to the physiotherapists and occupational therapists on the Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) ward at Fitzroy. In particular, this incudes assisting patient mobility practice, supervising patient exercise and therapy across both individual and group sessions, ADL retraining and other duties as directed. Duties include • Implementation of treatment as directed including exercises, mobility, ADL retraining and gait aid provision • Accurate treatment monitoring and evaluation of patients programs and conditions • Maintain effective communication with all team members including reporting back to the supervising physiotherapist regarding patient management and progress. • Administration duties to assist in the daily operation of the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy department. The classification for this position is IN29 ($62,540 per annum).
