About the role AGL’s Integrated Portfolio Planning team have a 14-month fixed-term opportunity for a Senior Analyst. Based in Melbourne, you’ll deliver high-quality analysis, planning, and reporting that supports AGL’s wholesale trading decisions across electricity, gas, and renewables, while helping to drive our transition to 12GW of new renewable and firming capacity. What you’ll do: Provide analytical support to optimise AGL’s wholesale portfolio across all commodities. Model, optimise, and plan portfolio outcomes in line with market and contractual changes. Contribute to developing and implementing trading strategies for renewable and firming capacity. Help build AGL’s analytical capability. Provide support and guidance across the broader team of analysts within IPP. What we’re looking for: Tertiary qualifications in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Engineering, or Science). Strong analytical and numerical skills with a passion for data, forecasting, and modelling. Exposure to tools or languages such as Plexos, SQL, Python, R, or similar (advantageous). Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex analysis in simple terms. Proactive, curious, and collaborative — ready to make an impact in a rapidly changing market.
