Your Role at St John of God Bunbury Hospital To perform fit testing with relevant SJGHC caregivers in accordance with state government testing guidelines and requirements, taking into account state OHS legislative requirements to keep our caregivers, patients and clients safe. The Position Conduct fit testing of respirators competently and consistently as per SJGHC RPP Guidelines, with consideration to the comfort and safety of the caregiver Conduct roughly 10 fit testing appointments per day (at 45minutes each), ensuring all caregivers are appropriately educated regarding the fit testing process (e.g. donning and doffing) and factors that impact a caregivers results. Identify and follow the established escalation process when issues arise with components of fit testing i.e. a caregiver is not able to achieve a pass on a stocked respirator. Support data maintenance of fit test details and results for each caregiver according to SJGHC documentation standards. Work with the RPP Coordinator to manage testing schedules and report on progress as per documentation requirements. Assess and educate caregivers on the correct procedures of donning and doffing RPE, adhering to SJGHC infection control and prevention policies You will hold a relevant qualification as an Occupational Hygienist or similar to perform fit testing assessments or be willing and capable of completing the relevant training. You will also have completed Respiratory Fit Testing Training to RespFit© standard (this can be provided by SJGHC if required) In addition, you will have knowledge of and experience in the use of Personal Protective Equipment and Respiratory Protection Equipment and understand the various types of RPE and the relevant OHS and Infection Protection and Control standards To succeed, you will possess effective written and verbal communication skills, sound skills in problem solving, organisation, planning and time management and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
