We’re partnering with a globally recognised tech company that has produced over 100 million devices worldwide from smart home systems and ISP networking solutions to next-generation IT platforms for enterprise environments. With their global success continuing to scale, they are now establishing a dedicated R&D team here in Australia. This is your chance to be part of something new, bold, and built from the ground up. About the Role You’ll work alongside a global team of highly skilled engineers to deliver the next generation of networking products. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for developing low-level software to bring new hardware platforms to life, from prototype to mass production. This is a rare opportunity to work on high-impact products from the ground up, in a company that truly values engineering excellence and autonomy. Key Responsibilities • Bring up embedded Linux systems on new hardware platforms. • Design and implement software from kernel-level features to application-layer services. • Develop and debug Linux device drivers, board support packages (BSP), and networking features. • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, QA, and support teams globally. • Contribute to the full product lifecycle – concept, development, testing, release. Requirements • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (master’s or PhD preferred). • Strong C/C++ development skills and experience with embedded Linux. • Hands-on knowledge of bootloaders (e.g. U-Boot), kernel development, and device drivers. • Experience working with interfaces such as UART, I2C, SPI, GPIO, and Flash memory. • Understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols (e.g. Ethernet, TCP/IP, MAC/PHY). • Proactive, independent problem-solver with strong debugging skills. Desirable (Not Essential) • Experience with networking protocols such as NAT, VPN, VLAN, STP, IGMP, LLDP, DHCP, QoS. • Familiarity with routing protocols such as OSPF or BGP. • Exposure to manufacturing processes and taking products to mass production. Apply now with your CV and let’s explore how you can become part of this incredible new chapter. For a confidential discussion contact Nic Gulliver on Nic.gulliver@peoplebank.com.au J-18808-Ljbffr
