The Role This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a motivated Social Worker to contribute to a meaningful barber/counselling initiative . In addition to providing psychosocial support and case management, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to be trained in barbering , using barber sessions as a culturally safe and trusted setting to build rapport, provide informal counselling, and promote mental wellbeing. Working as part of a dynamic and culturally diverse team, you will: Deliver psychosocial assessments, counselling, and case management Build meaningful connections through informal "yarning while cutting" sessions Engage clients-particularly young Indigenous men-through a trusted, culturally appropriate model of care Advocate for clients and facilitate access to health and social services Participate in community outreach and wellbeing events Help develop innovative, culturally relevant approaches to mental health support What We're Looking For We're seeking a compassionate, flexible, and culturally aware professional who is excited by new ways of engaging with community, particularly through creative and grassroots programs.
