The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving sales growth and building strong relationships within the industrial and manufacturing sector. This role requires a results-driven professional who can identify opportunities and deliver tailored solutions to the Australian & New Zealand market. Description Work closely with Sales Team Manager to develop new business strategies within the region. Scheduling appointments and visiting existing customers to review product needs and determine other sales opportunities. Establishing new relationship's / accounts. Updating customers on product changes and modifications. Providing solutions to customers' problems. Attending Trade Shows and Conferences (if applicable). Product introduction of new releases. Preparing sales and expense reports and ensuring they are turned in timely. Performing maintenance and updating of customers' accounts including contact names for future sales in the current Management Database Following up on leads and referrals and on all sales activity through telephone, written and personal contact. Extensive domestic and international travel required. Resolve all problem orders and ensure they are overseen professionally. Analyse sales and market demand to help plan an initial stocking portfolio for the new location. Once the role transitions to Branch Manager you will identify and recruit additional sales, admin and warehousing staff as needed. Continue with external business development as needed, as well as supporting the internal sales process as required. Profile A successful Business Development Manager should have: Proven experience in sales or business development, ideally within the industrial or manufacturing sector. Have experience across Pumps, Valves & Seals, Product knowledge or industry experience is an asset. Strong ability to build and nurture client relationships. Marketing or Business-related field diploma an advantage. Successful sales experience or equivalent. Excellent negotiation and presentation skills. A proactive approach to identifying and securing new business opportunities. Solid understanding of the sales process and CRM systems.
