The Product Planning Specialist is primarily responsible for determining the most effective and efficient vehicle model line-up, body styles, engines, grades, specifications and exterior and interior colour line up for Toyota to maximise Toyota Australia and Dealer profitability as well as achieving sales and customer satisfaction targets. How you’ll make an impact Determine optimal model line-up and grade specifications, based on collected market and product research information. Negotiate product line-up and grade proposals with TMC, maintaining accurate 2-way communication to ensure model preparations progress to schedule and plan. Prepare vehicle specification summary tables and charts for recommended standard and optional vehicle features and determine option-take rates. Facilitate effective communication to internal departments and external advertising agencies by preparing papers and presenting briefings that describe new vehicle objectives, features, benefits and relevant demographic information Develop, implement and monitor schedules for prescribed annual conferences and events, ensuring objectives and milestones are met Regularly report to management the status of all projects, identifying issues and difficulties that threaten achievement. Recommend tasks, activities and strategies to resolve. Ensure compliance with all relevant corporate and statutory requirements (e.g. OH&S standards) to achieve a safe and compliant workplace and to minimise TMCA’s exposure to risk and liability Your attributes – If you’ve got one or more, we’d love to hear from you! Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or equivalent experience, with over two years of experience in marketing or product planning, ideally within the automotive industry. Strong understanding of the automotive market, current industry trends, and the Sales & Marketing process. Demonstrated skills in market research, cost planning, and financial analysis, with the ability to interpret data and identify insights. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable using data tools to support decision-making.
