Internal Expression of Interest (EOI) 2025 City of Hobart Christmas Pageant Applications Close: 11.59pm Sunday, 7 September 2025 The Events and Activations team has several exciting roles for City of Hobart staff during the 2025 City of Hobart Christmas Pageant. The Pageant will take place in the Hobart CBD on the morning of Saturday, 22 November 2025, starting at 10:30 am and finishing at 12:00 pm, midday. Staff will be required to commence work before 10:30 am and finish work after midday on Pageant Day, depending on their allocated role. Employment status: Casual Agreement: Hobart City Council Enterprise Agreeme nt 2024 Salary: Municipal Officer Level 1, Grade D. Some supervisory roles will be paid at Municipal Officer Level 2, Grade B. (appropriate penalty rates for weekend overtime also apply on Pageant Day) About the roles Role Role Summary Shift Times Qty Staff Needed Area Warden Area Wardens play a crucial role in ensuring the safe delivery of the event. The route is divided into eight operational areas, each supervised by the Area Warden who supervisors a team of Spectator Marshals. 09.00 - 12.30 8 Spectator Marshal Spectator Marshals monitor spectator behaviour, ensure that individuals remain behind the blue line, and watch for general safety and event delivery concerns. 09.30 - 12.30 Up to 50 Parade Warden The Parade Warden supervises Parade Marshals who accompany assigned groups of parade participants, overseeing them to ensure the event is conducted safely, flows smoothly and follows all guidelines. 08.30 - 01.00 1 Parade Marshal Parade Marshals accompany assigned groups of parade participants, overseeing them to ensure the event is conducted safely, flows smoothly and follows all guidelines. 09.00 - 12.30 Up to 52 Swing Warden In case of illness, breaks, or if additional assistance is needed, Swing Wardens will step into a Warden or Marshal role as required. 09.00 - 12.30 2 Event Logger The Event Logger plays a vital role in ensuring the safe execution of the event. This role ensures that all activities, issues and incidents are logged and actioned are recorded accurately and acted upon. 07.30 - 14.00 1 Artist Liaison and Warden The Artist Liaison plays a vital role in ensuring the event is delivered safely and to a high quality. This individual will supervise all programmed artists participating in the event. 09.30 -13.30 2 Site Crew Working with the Site Manager, Site Crew will undertake bump-in and bump-out duties and general site work during the event. 07.30 - 14.00 2 Stage Manager The Stage Manager sets up and packs up the stage including furniture, dressing, banner, and signage. They also manage MC, sponsors, judges, and VIP artists on stage. 08.00 - 13.00 1 Accreditation and Event Support Officer Accreditation and Event Support Officers oversee operations at the event hub located at the Youth Arts and Recreation Centre (YARC). Their duties include signing in event staff, distributing and collecting event lanyards, providing event equipment and radios, and offering general assistance to event staff and participants. 08.00 - 13.00 2 Assembly Area Manager and Warden This role supervises the Assembly Crew to ensure that all participants enter the assembly area safely and are directed to their assigned assembly points. 07.30 - 13.30 1 Assembly Crew Members of the Assembly Crew help to ensure that all participants enter the assembly area safely and are directed to their assigned assembly points.
