About the opportunity Westgold is expanding our operations in 2025, creating exciting opportunities for aspiring mining professionals. We are seeking individuals interested in kickstarting their careers as Trainee Diamond Driller Offsiders. Our Diamond Drill Offsiders perform a heavily manual task of assisting our experienced Diamond Drillers to ensure that our rigs are running at a high rate of utilisation and accuracy. This is a great opportunity to kick start your mining career.? All current positions are employed from Perth on a FIFO roster based on our mine sites in the Murchison region.? Rosters are continuous on 2 weeks on, 1 week off basis and includes dayshift /nightshift. For these roles candidates will be invited to attend an Assessment/Information session at our Maddington Training Centre Thursday 28th August 2025. Candidates will have access to hear from industry professionals about the day-day life of a Diamond Driller Offsiders and discuss whether FIFO and mining would be a good fit for you. These sessions will be held each month and you may be placed in a candidate pool to attend a session What do I need? Proven experience in a labour-intensive role? Physically fit and able to lift 20kg drill rods repetitively Safety conscious and mechanically minded The willingness to contribute proactively and work hard towards improved career prospects Ability to work within a team and follow directions Hold a Valid C Class Manual Driver's Licence The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and pass a drug and alcohol test National Police Clearance valid within last 12 months The successful candidate will have: A strong understanding and commitment to safety The ability to commit to rostered remote work The right to work in a permanent role in Australia The willingness to contribute proactively and work hard towards improved career prospects.
