About the service: The Medicare Mental Health Services are free and you do not need an appointment, referral or Medicare card to visit a Medicare Mental Health Centre. The new services in Devonport, Burnie and Outer Hobart are co-funded by the Australian and Tasmanian Governments, to provide a streamlined approach to support better mental health and social wellbeing across the country. The service is tailored to the needs of the community in Tasmania and provides a combination of peer-integrated recovery and clinical support. Participate as a member of the Medicare Mental Health Centre clinical team in providing comprehensive mental health assessment, case coordination, intervention or group work as required; with specific responsibility to provide Brief Interventions Complete Intake Assessments as required Requirements: Must have one of the following: General or Provisional AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist OR Mental Health Nurse OR AASW registration as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker Demonstrated a comprehensive level of knowledge, expertise and skill; specifically, Brief Intervention Models of Care Commitment to professional development and willingness to participate in a continuous learning environment Well-developed judgment and evaluation skills demonstrating a working understanding assessment and care planning Sound understanding of the public, non-government and private mental health systems and programs and associated non-mental health programs in a community setting Ideally demonstrated experience in providing alcohol and other drugs (AOD) counselling and support Demonstrated interpersonal skills showing an ability and sensitivity to work with people who have or are at risk of developing a mental illness Proven ability to work creatively, collaboratively and effectively as a member of a team Demonstrated skills in organisation and time-management, including the ability to work under pressure and balance multiple tasks Excellent verbal communication and writing skills Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance Stride is committed to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable people.
